(please read this before you send an e-mail or press kit)

 Hello Friends-

I call you a friend because if you are visiting this page you have the same dedication to bringing fantastic music to the people of the High Plains and around the world that we do here at HPPR.  I may not know you yet, but I know I’m gonna like you!  Here are the details about Living Room Concerts at the Performance Studios of High Plains Public Radio:

1)      You must have at least 1 fully produced, air play quality, full length CD that you can send to me for air play prior to your concert.

2)      We have 1 concert per month in either the Garden City Kansas Performance Studio or the Amarillo Texas Performance Studio- pick one!  Your concert could be any given day of the week.  Remember that Wednesday and Sunday are church nights and could result in a lower attendance.  Of course prime dates would be a weekend.

3)      We are a public radio station.  This means we have on-air fund raising events a three times a year.  Living Room Concerts work around those dates.  It also means we have no funds for making these shows a reality (see item 4).

4)      WE HAVE NO GUARANTEE!  We request a free-will donation at the door and provide our audience with a $10.00 suggested amount.  What comes in the door goes to you 100%.  We also provide a table for you to offer your CD’s and other merchandise for sale.  Guess what…you get 100% of that as well!

5)      We record each show for future production, broadcast and pod cast not to mention what other ‘castings’ may develop but have not yet been named.  We will make a copy of the raw audio available to you if you would like.  We require the unlimited rights to broadcast and pod cast the performance.  In exchange we grant permission to link to our site for your fans to hear the pod cast (see http://www.hppr.org/music%20prog/LRCS.html#Just_Hangin for more info).  We also grant permission for you to use the recording in a future project so long as High Plains Public Radio is given the credit for the recording.

6)      We request that you appear on radio as a guest on the program High Plains Morning (Mon-Fri) to help promote your show and provide additional material for the broadcast program and pod cast (see item 4 for rights concerns).  This is not required but it certainly does help attendance at your show!

7)      We cover 4 states, Western Kansas, Southeast Colorado, Oklahoma Panhandle and Texas Panhandle (on a good day folks in Southwest Nebraska can hear us too).  We also have an amazing streaming audience and loyal pod casting audience.  You will be reaching out to the world as a Living Room Concert Artist.

Our intention is to provide our terrestrial listeners with the opportunity to attend a live music concert and become a part of radio as the audience.  We host concerts any night of the week to remain flexible to your touring schedule.  Of course Friday and Saturday nights could have larger audiences but our weeknight shows have also been very popular.  We keep the frequency of our shows low to allow our staff to continue doing their normal jobs AND to ensure that our listeners look forward to attending the next concert.

If you feel that your music and our concert series will work well together, please send an e-mail to me (Mary Palmer, music director).  I will contact you with additional information.
